swine flu being linked to GBD

After removing the ridiculous plastic wrapping from my Sunday paper this morning I found a picture of a nurse in full combat gear,respirator mask and a needle staring me in the face.I began reading the article and to my amazement I find that the upcoming swine flu vaccine(I assume this means the chemicals used to make it)is being linked to the possibly deadly disease Guillian-Barre Disease.This disease makes breathing very difficult,and has caused death in some patients.Doctors are being fore-warned to be on the look-out for these and other symptoms.

My concern is why would the government allow these vaccines to be used knowing the possible resulting outcome?Is this why the federal government in all it's wisdom has made it impossible for citizens receiving these shots to pursue legal recourse in the event they have complications?
